COVID-19 and Vaccination Update

January 20, 2021

As COVID-19 continues to alter how we live and interact, the Senior Home Companions team is pleased to be a part of the solution. Over the past few weeks, we’ve worked with the Indiana State Department of Health to schedule our essential healthcare workers for their COVID-19 vaccination. Currently, over 75 of our caregivers have received their first dose, and we continue to schedule additional personnel.

Additionally, many of our clients over the age of 70 have begun the process of getting scheduled for their vaccination, as well.

Vaccination and Exposure Policy

While we cannot legally mandate our staff, clients or families to receive the vaccine, we strongly encourage getting vaccinated. For those choosing not to vaccinate, we have access to several COVID-19 testing locations around Central Indiana. If concerns arise or there has been a potential exposure, our caregivers are tested.

Yes, the days are growing brighter, friends! There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

For nearly 30 years, we’ve been “rolling up our sleeves” to provide consistent, exceptional, and personalized care for our clients, now we get to do it in an entirely new way, for your protection and ours.

This is Our Shot

We’re excited for this important step in the COVID-19 battle, as we look towards better days and continue to strive to keep everyone healthy, both those in our care and our staff.

This truly is OUR shot. We aren’t just raising our sleeves for ourselves and our clients, but for our families, communities, local businesses and really… everyone around the globe.

We're Proud to Serve You

We have been so proud to be able to safely continue to serve our clients and their families during these historic times. We remain fully committed to the health and well-being of our clients, families and caregivers, now and always. We will continue to closely monitor and operate in compliance with the current CDC and local health department protocols, as the vaccine continues to roll out to additional age groups.

Vaccination Questions and Concerns

For caregivers and clients that have already had COVID-19, local health officials encourage you to wait up to 90 days before getting the vaccine due to antibodies present and the reduced risk to get COVID again within that time frame.

If you have questions, concerns or need assistance to schedule your or a loved one’s vaccination appointment, please don’t hesitate to give our team a call at (317) 251-0441. We’re here to help.
