Article Summary

Change can be uncomfortable, but it’s often the path to growth. Senior Home Companions’ recent move is a testament to embracing new seasons with faith, teamwork, and gratitude.

What does it take to embrace change and growth?

There’s a quote I often come back to from a coach I used to work with:
“If you’re not willing to go through the pain to make the change, you lose the right to complain.”
It’s direct and honest. Real growth usually comes with some discomfort.

How does faith shape our view of changing seasons?

Scripture speaks to this as well. In Daniel 2, we’re reminded that God changes times and seasons. In Ecclesiastes, Solomon tells us there is a time and season for every activity under heaven. Change isn’t accidental—it’s purposeful.

How did the office move impact the Senior Home Companions team?

That feels especially true for us right now at Senior Home Companions.
After 14 really meaningful years in the Keystone Crossing area, we stepped into a new season and moved our office to Carmel. It’s a good change. We’re excited about it. But it’s still change.

Desks are in different places. Work rhythms have shifted. The way our team connects day to day looks a little different because the space is different. And that adjustment takes time.

What role did teamwork play in a smooth transition?

I want to say how proud I am of our team. Colin did an incredible job coordinating the move, with John right by his side. Alice brought such thoughtfulness to designing the space, and the whole team rallied to make it happen over the last several months.

Why was this move especially meaningful?

What’s been especially meaningful to me is how this new space came to be—through longstanding relationships and shared history. Doors opened in ways we couldn’t have planned. The transition happened with clarity, mutual respect, and a real sense of provision. And the space itself fits our team almost perfectly.

How can change lead to growth and purpose?

So yes, change stretches us—but it also grows us. In this season, it’s been powerful to watch God’s timing, His provision, and His purpose come together in this new place we now call home for our work.

“Change is never easy, but with faith, teamwork, and gratitude, it becomes a path to growth and new purpose.”
