Story Cottage is a first-of-its-kind memory care solution for families in Central Indiana, staffed exclusively with Senior Home Companions caregivers. With the success of our flagship residence on the Northside of Indianapolis, our team is preparing to open a second location in Carmel this April.
Meet Central Indiana’s Story Cottage
First launched in July 2019, the Story Cottage concept was created after several years of researching the varied and best memory care models across the nation. Custom built with safety and comfort in mind, our spaces are designed as smaller and predictable environments so that our memory care residents will feel at home. Each residence offers just 8-10 bedrooms for an intimate setting, as well as private rooms for families to visit or share a meal with loved ones.
Story Cottage is Unlike Any Dementia Care Option
The biggest benefit of residing in a Story Cottage home is the personalized care and companionship that comes from the city’s lowest resident-to-caregiver ratio at just 4:1. Our residents enjoy a curated curriculum based on their individual interests and needs, working with caregivers who have been rigorously selected for their experience and compassion. You’ll also know that your loved one is perfectly safe with our state-of-the-art security features.
Exclusive, Intimate Home Environment
The first Story Cottage residence is located in the picturesque Meridian Kessler neighborhood of Indianapolis. Our new Carey Grove residence is set to open in April 2021, nestled among the trees of the Maple Acres neighborhood in Carmel. These locations were specifically chosen from a wide range of options in order to offer our residents the multigenerational feel of a neighborhood with families and children.
The green space and beautiful trees in these locations create an idyllic setting for our residents to explore the grounds alongside our trusted staff. In addition, our locations are just minutes from state-of-the-art healthcare resources for residents who need either regular or emergency medical visits

At Story Cottage, our dependable caregivers are exclusively provided by Senior Home Companions. We ensure that every caregiver in our residences has extensive memory care experience. In fact, our rigorous selection process means that fewer than 20 percent of applicants are hired at Story Cottage. Our personalized approach to memory care means that your loved one will always be surrounded by their peers and nurturing staff.
