What is Senior Home Companions?

Senior Home Companions is the brainchild of Judy Cuppy looking for a second career.  The 17 year old company capitalizes on Florida’s most plentiful natural resources:  active older people who want to do something meaningful while earning extra money, and retirees who need help to remain independent.

When Cuppy established Senior Home Companions in Sarasota, Florida in 1992, she brought a new concept to helping the elderly, frail and infirm cope without giving up their independence or their homes.  She gave them the chance to make the last years of their lives worthwhile and productive.

Senior Home Companions provides loving, non-medical, in-home care.  We help people in need of assistance with daily living activities due to injury, illness, aging needs, dementia, and Alzheimer’s.  Senior Home Companions is a private, local Florida agency.  We are not a national franchise.  The Owner or Branch Manager meets with all potential clients in order to offer a personal connection.  We pride ourselves on carefully matching our companion/homemakers to meet the special needs of each individual situation.

Senior Home Companions can help your loved ones comfortably remain in the home of their choice while affording peace of mind for you and your loved ones.  We understand that this is a major step for most families to allow people into your home.  The owner or Branch Manager personally interviews each caregiver in their home.  In addition to checking their references, a thorough background check for criminal and motor vehicle violations is completed.  Each caregiver is compassionate, trustworthy, honest, and offers a lifetime of experience and caring.
