Day in My Life as an Intern for Senior Home Companions

July 31, 2025

My name is Sarah Seals, and I’m entering my sophomore year at Purdue University, where I’m majoring in Selling and Sales Management. I’m actively involved in cooperative living, which has provided me with a strong, supportive community of women to grow alongside. I’m passionate about helping others, and that passion fuels both my career goals and personal mission.

A typical day in my role starts around 8:30 AM at the office. On Mondays, we begin with a team meeting where we review our hours and recognize team members who exemplify our company’s values. This is followed by our weekly sales and marketing meetings.

After lunch, I focus on my assigned projects for the week. Right now, I’m working in Excel and HubSpot to prepare email communications for an upcoming sponsorship opportunity. Along with that I have been creating and ordering signs for our business. This typically involves sending emails and coordinating key details to ensure everything is finalized smoothly. Depending on the day I go on in-home assessments to learn more about all sides of the business. I usually end the day by visiting some of our referral sources—doing drop-ins to build relationships and strengthen our community presence.

My favorite part of my job is getting to work with people. I truly enjoy listening to their stories and finding ways to help them. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of a company that’s designed to provide the most personal and compassionate care possible. I also really enjoy traveling in the field with our sales team and participating in in-home assessments—it gives me a deeper understanding of our clients’ needs and allows us to make a meaningful difference in their lives.

Hey there! Ask me anything!
